According to university and community estimates, NY City alone has more than 350 Mosques. Several decades ago I noticed that NY city cab drivers were third world immigrants. Population studies have found that NY City’s population contains 750,000 to 1 million Muslims. 2.5 million Hispanics, 1.5 million Asians, and 2.2 million Africans, some American born and some recent immigrants. According to the latest US Census, 8.58 million people live in NY City of which 7.2 million or 84% are nonwhite.
