      Asylum seekers locked up like criminals

      The granting of asylum status is something of a lottery and there are enormous differences between the judgements made in European countries. Nonetheless, in Denmark, those whose applications are rejected are now treated as criminals. This is done in a conscious attempt to force them into leaving voluntarily.
