Former UI student sentenced to 50 years for attempted murder

A former University of Iowa student who tried to kill a woman walking home from work on campus late one April night four years ago was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Monday. Ali Younes, now 22, was a UI freshman living in the Burge Residence Hall when he attacked a woman walking near the Iowa Memorial Union.
